Fit Assessment | Grant Garris

What Kind of Support Does Your Business Actually Need?

Growth creates new kinds of problems. Sometimes the issue is operational. Sometimes it is leadership. Sometimes both are true, and sometimes the symptoms are clear while the root cause is not.

This short assessment identifies the strongest next step and whether the way I work is likely to fit your situation. Three questions, about a minute, and you see your result before anyone asks you for anything.

Three questions. About one minute. No contact information required to see your result.

Find Your Fit

Answer based on where things stand today, not where you expect them to be.

What This Assessment Does

A useful recommendation has to answer two questions. First, what kind of help does the business actually need? Second, are the conditions in place for that kind of engagement to work?

A company can have a genuine operational problem and still be a poor fit for fractional leadership if leadership is unwilling to change, access is restricted, or the person accountable for the outcome has no authority to influence it. The assessment accounts for both.

Operational need

Processes, accountability, customer experience, implementation, service delivery, KPIs, systems, and cross-functional execution.

Leadership need

Delegation, accountability, decision-making, communication, performance management, managing upward, and strategic judgment.

Root-cause clarity

Whether you already know what is causing the problem, or whether a diagnostic conversation should come before choosing any intervention.

Engagement readiness

Executive sponsorship, transparency, access, decision-making authority, willingness to change, and realistic expectations.

Where the Assessment Can Land

You will get one primary recommendation. It is based on the overall pattern of your answers rather than the first one you selected, so you can start out thinking the problem is operational and still finish with a different result if later answers point elsewhere.

01

Leadership coaching

The strongest next step is developing a manager rather than restructuring a function. This is where most individual professionals land: engaging a team, managing up, or positioning yourself deliberately inside a corporate environment.

02

Fractional leadership

The strain is operational. Support, customer success, implementation, or broader execution is under pressure and gross margin is absorbing the cost. SaaS is the area of deepest focus, though the work is not limited to it.

03

Not the right moment

The need may be real and the timing still wrong. If you are not yet managing people, or the business is not yet feeling operational strain, the assessment will say so rather than route you into a call that wastes both our time.

You Do Not Have to Trade Your Email for the Answer

The assessment is built to be useful before it becomes a lead form. You see your result first. What you do with it after that is your call.

What happens

No contact information is required before the result. No scheduling screen appears before you know the recommendation. Qualified results can continue to a thirty-minute conversation if you want one.

One rule for answering

Answer for the company you have, not the company you would like to describe. If decisions are escalating, access is limited, or the management layer is struggling, that makes the result more accurate rather than less favorable.

Start With the Problem, Then Choose the Structure

Three questions, about a minute, and your result appears before any optional contact form. If neither path fits, the assessment will tell you that too.
